Vatnamot River System

Region: South Iceland
Coordinates: 63.760° N 18.0033° W

This river system consists of many rivers, streams and brooks, which unite and wander across lava fields and sanded areas.

This unique aquatic system lies about 8 km to the south of road no.1. The panoramic view with mountains and glaciers is simply unforgettable. The catch consists of large sea trout.

The distance from the capital is about 290 km and 12 km from Kirkjubaejarklaustur.
