South Iceland in 3-4 Days

SOUTHERN ICELAND

Self drive from Reykjavik
Suggestion for The South in 1 to 4 Days
The route crosses the mountains east of the capital area, where the largest agricultural lowland area of the country stretches eastwards. You can choose to follow the road onward closer to the south coast along the glacier/volcano Eyjafjallajokull. The lush green Bog Valley (Myrdalur) is crossed to reach the country’s southernmost village, Vik. East of Vik outwash plains and lava fields are crossed to reach Kirkjubaejarklaustur, The National Park Skaftafell, The Glacial Lagoon and eventually the point of return, the fishing town Hofn.
