Technically the same river. The former flows into the lake Vestmannsvatn and the latter pours out of it and into the Laxa in Adaldalur Valley. This is a 200 to 300 salmon fishery with, each part fished with two rods and separate lodges. The are small volume rivers, mere streams. Despite vanishing into the Laxa, the Salmon of Reykjadalsa and Eyvindarlaekur are mostly grilse.
The present lease holder consider the rivers best fitted for trout fishing and has set the rule that all salmon be released. (see also TROUT RIVERS.)
There is some neting for trout in the Westmannsvatn with a few salmon as a bycatch.
